The Loft Report first reported that Randall Berky called the police on December 6 but according to the police report he filed with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office he filed a theft report on December 7th. Berky reported his 1st GHC Classic clock bird and several breeders were stolen.
It’s still unclear if either Oscar Betancourt (Oscar Loft) or Yoel Martinez (Black Hills) filed a police report when they discovered their GHC Classic entries missing and presumed stolen. A rumor has been circulating on social media that they have retained legal counsel but tLR has not been able to substantiate this claim.
What is known is that all three fancies were disqualified by the GHC Classic race committee for not being able to present their birds for drug testing and or tossing. Both Betancourt and Martinez only clocked one bird in race time; Berky clocked several others besides the one that was stolen, all his clocked birds were disqualified.
The GHC Classic committee is still awaiting drug testing results prior to making the 2014 results ‘official’.
